Audemars Piguet was founded by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, and they have remained a family owned company since then. One of their most iconic company slogans is “To Break The Rules, You Must First Master Them,” which is a phrase that they coined in 2012, and many notable athletes and other individuals have worn Audemars Piguet wrist watches. They produce and manufacture around forty thousand timepieces annually.

Audemars Piguet has introduced several notable innovations within the watchmaking community since their founding. For example, they created the world’s first minute repeating movement for a wrist watch back in 1892. They then sold their creation to Omega, another well renowned and iconic wrist watch manufacturer. In addition to this, they also introduced the world’s first jumping hour wrist watch in 1921. Audemars Piguet have created other notable firsts in the watchmaking industry, such as the world’s first skeleton watch, and the world’s first luxury sports wrist watch, which is one of their most iconic achievements.
