Chopard Luxury Watches Prices

Le Petit Fils de L.-U. Chopard & Cie S.A., which is more commonly known as simply Chopard, is a manufacturer and retailer of several luxury goods, though they are best known for their production of high quality jewelry and wrist watches. The company was founded by a man named Louis Ulysse Chopard in Sonvilier, Switzerland, though it is now headquartered in Geneva. Chopard has serviced many notable figures and prominent individuals through time, for example, Tsar Nicholas ll of Russia wore a Chopard wrist watch. This company has even been the official timekeeper of the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco since the year 2002.

After the death of Louis Ulysse Chopard, his son and grandson, Paul Louis and Paul Andre Chopard, took over the company. However, Paul Andre had no children with interest in continuing the family business when it was time for his retirement. Because of this, he sold Chopard to a man named Karl Scheufele the third, who was a German watchmaker and goldsmith. He was in search of a watch movement manufacturer for his own business, and the Chopard company suited his needs perfectly. To this day, Chopard remains under the ownership of the Scheufele family.

Although Chopard is known for its jewelry as well as its timepieces, this company has managed to become the fourth most popular Swiss wrist watch brand in the entire world. The only watchmakers that have surpassed them on that front are world renowned watchmaking giants Rolex, Omega, and Patek Phillipe, in that order.

One of Chopard’s most iconic models is the L.U.C. Quattro wrist watch. This timepiece is best known for its power reserve, which can last an impressive nine days. It is also part of the L.U.C. collection, which is considered their most popular and well known collection to date. This collection is often marketed as “epitomizing the highest standards of Swiss watchmaking,” as it says on Chopard’s official website.

In addition to the L.U.C. Quattro wrist watch, as well as the entire L.U.C. collection, Chopard is also known for its “Happy Diamond” wrist watch. This timepiece, which has a quartz movement, was sold in an auction for over one and a half million dollars USD. This Happy Diamond piece remains their most expensive watch sold at auction to this day.

While Chopard may not be as much of a household name as many of its other more well renowned watchmaking competitors, it is certainly a high regarded and well respected wrist watch manufacturer. Despite the fact that this company is often better known for its jewelry than its wrist watches, Chopard’s timepieces are reliable, and they provide just as much elegance and precision as many other wrist watches in the industry. Chopard has surpassed their one hundred and fiftieth anniversary as a company, and it is likely they will continue to manufacture wrist watches that are stylish and elegant, and continue to dominate the watchmaking industry worldwide.
